Lake Monger from Above: Drone Filming in Wembley WA

At The Flying Emu, we offer cinematic drone services throughout Perth, helping brands, creatives, and councils capture their stories from above.

We provide professional drone videography services across Perth and its suburbs, including locations like Lake Monger in Wembley. This aerial video offers a multi-perspective view, from close sweeps over water and grassland to wide pulls that frame the lake beneath a dramatic sky, with Perth city resting on the horizon.

About Lake Monger, Wembley WA

Lake Monger is a central green space located between Wembley, Leederville, and Glendalough — just a few kilometres from the Perth CBD. It’s popular with walkers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts, and it provides essential habitat for birdlife year-round.

From a drone’s perspective, it offers:

  • 360-degree flyability with open lines and curved boundaries
  • Uninterrupted lake views, especially from the east and north sides
  • Stunning skyline perspective when flying west to east
  • Varied height trees and shoreline lines for compositional framing

This video captures all of that, while embracing the softness of the weather to create a thoughtful, cinematic look.

The Visual Style: Still Water, Clouded Light, Urban Edge

The video opens near the lake’s edge, with the drone skimming just above the surface — capturing small ripples, reeds, and bird movement in soft light. As the flight continues, the drone climbs back, revealing:

  • The full curve of Lake Monger, bordered by pathways and treetops
  • Skies filled with soft, rolling clouds — creating an atmospheric, even exposure
  • A distant view of Perth city emerging across the waterline
  • Human scale features like cyclists and walkers moving quietly through the landscape

Some shots are slow and close. Others are wide and observant. Combined, they create a natural rhythm that feels both local and cinematic.
