Drone video showcasing jacaranda in full bloom
At The Flying Emu, we offer cinematic drone video services across Perth, including the leafy riverside suburb of Applecross. From seasonal events to real estate, our drone flights are designed to showcase local places with beauty and clarity. This page features a recent video project filmed during jacaranda season, highlighting how aerial visuals can elevate the way we see Applecross.
There’s a special window in spring when Applecross truly comes alive—and it’s painted in purple. This drone video captures the suburb at its most iconic, during the height of jacaranda season, when the streets turn soft with blossoms and the rooftops feel almost part of a dreamscape.
Flying low and smooth, the DJI drone reveals:
Each frame feels like a moving painting—rich in colour, calm in motion, and unmistakably Applecross.
Each year, usually in late October to early November, Applecross becomes a magnet for locals and photographers seeking those iconic purple avenues. The suburb’s layout, with long, straight streets and uniform spacing, makes it one of the best places in Perth to experience jacaranda season.
From above, the view is even more striking:
This video wasn’t just a flight—it was a tribute to Applecross in one of its finest hours.
