Kings Park’s DNA Tower

Reveal of the city skyline and Swan River

FPV Flight Around the DNA Tower

Glide through the treetops of one of Perth’s most iconic green spaces in this immersive FPV drone sequence. Shot around the DNA Tower in Kings Park, the video builds from the ground up — weaving between native bushland before rising to reveal sweeping views of the city skyline and the Swan River beyond.

This project is more than a flight path, it’s a visual rhythm built on movement, light, and elevation. And it’s the kind of story we love to tell at The Flying Emu. With every takeoff, we look for the moment when environment and camera connect — transforming everyday landscapes into cinematic experiences.

Kings Park

Located just west of Perth’s CBD, Kings Park and Botanic Garden is one of the largest inner-city parks in the world. With over 400 hectares of native bushland, wildflower displays, war memorials, and sweeping views of the Swan River and city skyline, it’s both a local landmark and a globally recognised green space.

What makes Kings Park so cinematic isn’t just its elevation or layout — it’s the texture. The mix of natural terrain, walkways, architectural structures like the DNA Tower, and visual corridors out to the skyline creates a layered backdrop that works beautifully for drone filming.

From a production standpoint, Kings Park offers an unmatched balance between nature and urban context — making it a perfect setting for aerial content aimed at tourism, promotion, or storytelling.

Every location has a story, we help you tell it from the air.

From subtle movements to cinematic reveals, The Flying Emu delivers drone content with purpose.

FPV Climb Through the Park

This shoot was designed around a simple idea: to explore how FPV drone movement could reflect the emotional arc of a physical climb — starting from earth and ending in a wide, horizon-facing view.

We flew a lightweight FPV drone equipped with a high-definition camera and a stabilised mount system, which allowed for responsive movements while maintaining cinematic smoothness. Unlike GPS-based drones that tend to hover or pan in slow arcs, FPV gives us complete manual control — allowing for rapid acceleration, agile turns, and seamless vertical climbs.

In this video, that capability comes to life as we ascend alongside the DNA Tower. The drone climbs with a subtle spin, capturing both the structural pattern of the tower’s double helix and the trees that encase it. As it breaks the canopy line, Perth’s skyline gradually fills the background — not as a static reveal, but as part of a moving journey.

FPV Drone Services in Kings Park and Perth WA

At The Flying Emu, we specialise in FPV and aerial cinematography that goes beyond the ordinary. This shoot reflects what sets FPV apart: precision, motion, and atmosphere. Rather than just documenting a place, we bring viewers through it — creating content that feels alive, present, and intentional.

We provide drone filming for:

  • Tourism and Destination Promotion
  • Creative Campaigns and Storytelling
  • Location Marketing and Brand Content
  • Urban Parks, Attractions, and Architecture
  • Lifestyle and Scenic Flyovers
  • Social Media & Online Visuals

Our FPV setups use agile, manually piloted drones that can hug the ground, dive through gaps, and flow through spaces traditional drones can’t safely navigate. All flights are CASA compliant, fully insured, and custom-planned to respect the safety, timing, and visual goals of each project.
